Historicon 2016 was my first HMGS con since 2009. I'm at Cold Wars now!

Two or three years. It's been at least six years since I attended Historicon. I hadn't missed a Historicon since the the days of New Carrollton but life has a way of catching up.

I've been going to conventions since the late 70's at first it was mainly Sci-Fi conventions and then in the mid 80's I went to my first Wargame convention which I enjoyed a lot.

And every year hence I've never missed a Wargame convention in Northern Calif I go to at least 3 a year which includes one I attended a month or so.

Over 20. Got thoroughly turned off when the game master became irate over a player playing the field instead of using the historical tactic. Then to hear the same GM afterwards complaining about this to his cohorts. Unforgivable in my book.

one day…..

"Forgive me GameMaster, for I have sinned: It has been 2 days since my last convention.
I have not painted any figures for over 5 months.
I have not studied my rule-sets for over a week.
I have spent money on things not related to gaming, especially frivolous things like mortgage, power, food, and other non-essential fripperies.
I have allowed other things to interfere with my gaming activities, like work, household chores, shopping, or sleeping.
I am truly sorry, and I humbly repent. I will try to stay on the path of righteousness and put all those other sinful and slothful actions aside, concentrating on the truly important goal of being ready for the next game, whenever or wherever it happens.
Amen"

Friday was the last time. I'm leaving today, Monday, for Adepticon.

Great "confession," capncarp.

As your penance, go paint some figures and all will be forgiven.
