The Thirty Years War Europe's Tragedy by Peter Wilson. Best single volume history of a very complicated conflict. |

Sorry, I wasn't aware of the previous thread. I've ordered Wilson's book as it seems to be the perfect spot for the level I'm looking for to start. |

is a big fan of the Age of Sail, and these ships really speak to him - he loves transitional eras, and the Anglo-Dutch Wars was one of those.
