A brief update on the status of Cold Wars.

I just heard from our Cold Wars Convention Director who is already safely on-site with senior staff. The 967 tables used for vendors and gaming have also arrived and are being set up at this moment. So far, so good…

Safe travels to everyone.

Respectfully,
John Spiess

Now if I can only dig myself out in time to get there. Thanks for the update though.

Yeah baby!. I can't wait to stuff a cooler under one of those tables and truly relax.

Not use to this kind of update. Nice as I am not letting the weather stop me attending but then it has not before either.

Any local status update? Are the parking lots getting cleared? Roads etc?…

47Ronin15 Mar 2017 2:49 p.m. PST

Thanks for the update, John.

Hope to see you soon.

Now, for you out-of-staters, be forewarned--you may encounter some unusual driving situations hete in PA. Some drivers may let you merge into a heavy stream of traffic. Many will use their turn signals to warn others of their intentions. Many have the audacity to drive within the speed limits and are even _courteous_! Please, take a deep breath, allow your heartrate to return to normal, and try to take these bizarre behaviors into account. See you there!

Awesome news. Looking forward to seeing everyone there. Stop by and say hello to Reid and Rachel at the Covert Intervention Games Booth.

Arrived late. Roads are very good with only a few issues on the highways from blowing and drifting snow. I expected the roads to be potentially worse and was reminded how well PennDot handles their roads.

Host and other hotel lots are plowed with the usual leftover ice bits and snow. A good day of sunshine should help this. Vendor hall access is good. Now to work on the path from our hotel to the vendor area…..

Come out and enjoy the show.

PennDOT handles their roads well? Obviously you're not a PA resident!

Leaving early tomorrow morning.

Quite jazzed already!

Leaving in about two hours. Glad to hear that access to the dealer area is good!

Enjoy the last one for a while, guys. I'm erring on the side of caution for this one. Hope everyone has a good time.
On the bright side a Friday table and a Saturday morning table at Wally's just opened up. You're welcome!

Larry R, I spent 22 years as a PA resident before moving to VA. There is no comparison. Roads in PA following a snow storm vs VA are night and day. In PA you also have all of the townships, boroughs and cities plowing. In my county in VA we have VDOT and their contractors, nothing else. It can take days to get your subdivision plowed out.

PA knows how to handle snow. So if you have not lived other places you likely do not appreciate the difference.

Roads are super clear in Lancaster.

Enjoy!

Larry R17 Mar 2017 5:54 a.m. PST

And I grew up on the NY/Canadian border. Enough said. I've been a PA resident for 40 years.
