People interested in getting a rather more honest and insightful analysis of the good, bad and ugly tactical and operational aspects of the USAF in VN would be well served to hunt up a copy of - "SETUP – What the Air Force did in Vietnam and Why", by Earnest H Tilford Jr (Air University Press, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama 36112-5532) 1991. Highly recommended. B |

Thanks for the tip! I like Clashes and Eleven Days of Christmas by Marshall L. Michell III. I like spaceships, too, but they have their own spot. |

Yep, read the original article ages ago, and then the book later. Essential reading--don't expect rousing heroics. The original title was "Setup: How the Air Force Lost in Vietnam an Why," which is a better description. Air U Press gave in to political pressure on the title, even if the book is unsparing. |
