So this was printed on a 3D printer. I don't know what type or how skilled the sculptor is.

The turtle certainly shows a degree of texture that I probably wouldn't find acceptable in a model. The water also, but the island, at that scale, looks pretty good to me. The texture actually really seems to work on it.

So I guess my conclusion is that 3D printing is good enough right now to make small scale terrain features.

Pretty neat. I wonder how well the paint sticks.

Ack! Modelling and printing this has been on my to-do list ever since I built my printer 6 years ago, and I haven't gotten around to it!

Where did you find this? Is the model available?
