A converted Matchbox Adventure 2000 vehicle provides great scope for a Sci-fi or Post Apocalyptic Vehicle.

thumbs up !!

Really like what you did with it, quite a few "simple" conversions/additions that really worked well together IMO. Esp. like the tire change and lifting the body up.

Ha I remember having one of those as a kid I think it came with a second vehicle with a missile launcher and they joined together to make one uber vehicle. I like what you've done with it :)

Great work! I'm so lazy I would have left it as-is. :)

Goober12 Mar 2017 2:28 p.m. PST

LOVE. IT.

Where did the donor wheels come from? I'm looking at making some vehicles up from old die casts and wheels are always an issue.

Hi Goober,

The wheels are old GW Ork Truk wheels. But I also often use Zinge Industries, which are actually better, so they are worth a look too.

Excellent work. Nice to see one getting some love.

I didn't have that particular one but I had everything on page 39:

And if you think it looks familiar:

I always wanted those, saw them in the Matchbox catalog when I was wee. I was only able to get hold of those "regular sized" ones pictured.

Great job!

Beautiful work.

Some of the Adventure 2000 vehicles were featured in Judge Dredd strips back in the 70s – IIRC when he first when into the Cursed Earth. I had them then and have them now… Now of course I use them with my JD minis.
Strangely, the plastic figures that came with them fit in with 25/28mm minis.

Really nice work

chromedog14 Mar 2017 9:20 p.m. PST

I managed to find an old set ("Raider command" – the landcruiser/killdozer combo as the Dredd/Cursed Earth stuff had it) at a market last year about the same time that that Cursed Earth story got reprinted.

I remembered playing with a mate when we were in primary school (ages 6-12ish?). He had all but the trio of regular matchbox scaled vehicles – hovercraft and two cars – and he brought them to school.

He also had Dinky UFO stuff and a Space1999 eagle or two …

blackjack07115 Mar 2017 9:05 a.m. PST

That takes me back. I had a couple of those when I was a kid – the hovercraft and the scout car.

Nice job on the conversion!

Thanks for the kind comments all. Seeing that catalogue reminded me that I did a couple of the others too!
