Sad to hear – they have some great ranges. They're still taking orders though April 1.

Wow.I associate them strongly with the 15mm explosion over the past decade.

FincasKhalmoril11 Mar 2017 12:39 p.m. PST

Oh that's very sad, but good to know. Will need to place a final order then!

Whoa.

What a shame. Hope the present owners move on to another happy chapter and the ranges find a good home.

RTJEBADIA11 Mar 2017 1:13 p.m. PST

Unexpected loss!

OMG! That's nuts.

Lame :(

Best wishes to both people involved.

That is an enormous shame.

All hail their AFV range, as used here: link

Wow, that is a shocker!

I love their stuff, and have lots of minis I'd like to purchase. Sadly, budgetary issues prevent that from happening.

I certainly hope someone decides to purchase their range, to keep them in production.

McWong7311 Mar 2017 4:35 p.m. PST

Fantastic range, not fantastic news.

Darn! I hate to see one of the indies close up.

Twoball Cane11 Mar 2017 8:21 p.m. PST

I've ordered several times from them….this is sad times.

That is a frak'n shame. Truly a frak'n shame.

blacksoilbill Supporting Member of TMP12 Mar 2017 3:06 a.m. PST

That is unfortunate. 15mm sci of never really took off for me, but always liked the look of their stuff.

ROUWetPatchBehindTheSofa12 Mar 2017 8:27 a.m. PST

Did a fair bit of browsing, but never got around to buying anything. Hopefully someone can take on the complete range (I'd be more than a little suprised if they can't sell/license the range to a new producer).

Patrick Sexton Supporting Member of TMP12 Mar 2017 7:59 p.m. PST

Well, I did my part to ensure they stayed in business. Really nice product and quite a variety. They will be missed.

Thanks,

Pat

Truly a damn shame. I have heard nothing but good things about Gruntz and they carried the range.

I have some of the infantry and the very first walker model they put out. Superior products.

wminsing13 Mar 2017 6:58 a.m. PST

Ooof!! That is sad news! I will see if I can scratch together one final order. They had great stuff. Hopefully someone will think about picking up the range….

John T. should stop posting pictures! I just had to place an order for a New Ukrainian Heavy Armored Detachment because of him, and CMG leaving us, and a 15% discount, and, well, because I had no resistance. :)

I don't know what Pat S. ordered today, but I do know our Chicago area group is CMG richer as of now. Hopefully, someone else picks up the line.

I've got a bunch of Protolene Khanate troopers to use as 'not-vargr'. Great figures!

Stealth100014 Mar 2017 1:08 a.m. PST

This is terrible news. Anyone know why? One of my go to places for 15mm sf.

Personal logo John Treadaway Supporting Member of TMP14 Mar 2017 2:44 a.m. PST

Sorry Dave wink their stuff was/is good and simple to put together. I did a piece on painting and assembly here and they were a breeze.
In basic paint before dips and detailing…

While I feel it's too little, too late, I've sent in my final order.

It's a pity, but in my mind, despite the excellent miniatures, CMG was very much a second-string option, in the shadow of GZG, Brigade and Rebel Minis.

And I can't explain why.

Pity, been stalking the site forever, but it forced my hand to finally buy something.

Got an order in yesterday too. The really unfortunate thing IMHO is the sci-fi snakeman line from their KS won't get out to the general public unless someone picks it up. Luckily my KS kit arrived a couple weeks ago.

blackjack07115 Mar 2017 10:29 a.m. PST

Sad news. I'll have to send in a final order.

ARMY Strong15 Mar 2017 7:55 p.m. PST

Got my final order in, love their stuff.

Your Kidding16 Mar 2017 2:22 p.m. PST

Man, I should have got in on that snake KS. Bummer.

War Monkey17 Mar 2017 9:09 a.m. PST

Well this just sucks!

Well, I thought they were taking orders through April 1.

But earlier today I went to the website, put a few items on the shopping cart and then got distracted with other things that were going on at home. Then, when I got back to the online shop the page said the following:

"Our Apologies Critical Mass Games is closing on the 2nd April 2017 and is no longer taking orders.
All outstanding orders are currently being processed."
link

Fortunately I had put my items on the PayPal shopping basket, and it seems to have gone through. At least I hope it gets processed.

That sucks mighty. I was building an order before boarding my flight home and had to stop short of hitting submit in paypal so as not to miss the flight. :(

Personal logo Cacique Caribe Supporting Member of TMP18 Mar 2017 5:51 a.m. PST

Update: I got confirmation a little while ago that my order was indeed received.

Dan

Sargonarhes18 Mar 2017 10:21 a.m. PST

I have a few of their miniatures, and considered getting more. Guess can't now.

Is there any one that's will pick up their line? I'd hate to see these go OOP.

Sargon,

You might be in luck:

Kudos to CMG – order placed on the 14th arrived this afternoon.

A nice note to end on.

Wow. That's definitely excellent service to the last.

And it would have been perfectly logical if they had needed to take longer.

Dan

vicmagpa122 Mar 2017 3:44 p.m. PST

will somebody be able to pick up the line?

stroezie22 Mar 2017 11:03 p.m. PST

Ral Partha Europe has picked it up, there's a link a few post up.

Personal logo Cacique Caribe Supporting Member of TMP19 Apr 2017 10:08 p.m. PST

Kmfrye, you're in NJ?

Hmm, it seems like my order must be traveling by boat. CMG says it shipped out on 3/29 and so far no show here in TX. I've been checking my mailbox daily too.

I hope the USPS hasn't returned it to sender or delivered it to the wrong address. I'm sending Craig a quick email though, just in case the package was sent back to them.

kmfrye20 Apr 2017 7:27 a.m. PST

Hello Dan,

Yes (for my sins ;D )

Either that, or your package is caught in customs, or sitting on a shelf at the Post Office.

Excellent news. My package arrived today. And amazing figures, as always.

Though I am sorry to see CMG sell their business, I wish Craig and his team success in all their future endeavors.

I believe this has been said elsewhere, but should be in this thread as well.

"Critical Mass Games and the ownership of the Rules, Miniatures, Vehicles and Terrain Lines has been transferred to the new owners RAL Partha Europe."

Best wishes to Craig as well!

Doug
