Difficult to work out..HELP Is it the case that …. Dual Packs have just cards and consoles for two planes and they have basic and standard rules but no advanced rules ? The Wings of Glory Rules pack has no planes but consoles and cards for 4 players ..no plane manoeuvre cards ? -and also basic, standard and advanced rules ? Each aircraft comes with its own cards but no console ? (Marketing is to blame I suppose…..!) |

Try checking out the various sets at boardgamegeek.com and see if that will help. I am not familiar enough with the game to help you. |

I am not sure by what you mean with "console". The model planes come with a flight stand, which has the shooting arc, weapon damage deck to use when firing, and total damage it can take before being shot down. Each plane also comes with the appropriate maneuver cards it uses. The rules box came with the counters, fire range sticks, damage decks and a cardboard, which now may just be a paper one with the rerelease, place to keep track of your hits, special damage effects and where you lay out your three movement cards each turn. There is a new printing of the rules which takes the three seperate box sets and combines them into one. I hope that helps some. |

If by "console" you are referring to the cardboard mat mentioned by 45thdiv, you are correct in that you do not get one with the planes – they come in the boxed rule set. You don't really need them to play. I think they take up too much room, and can play just fine without them. |

Thanks for the replies. By console I meant the 'instrument panel' display for cards an damage. Which set has the 'full' rules? Is it worth getting the set without planes then buying planes or will i still miss something ? |

You need the basic boxed set. Unless they have changed things, I don't see how you can play without it. |

Well the Duel pack have the basic rules, so you can jump right in with those. However, it's well worth the investment in a copy of the boxed rules to get the full rules (multi-crew, multi-engine, balloons, AA, altitude and ace abilities). In addition you get the range sticks, damage card decks and the little aircraft dashboard, which as has been pointed out is not really needed, but helps organize your cards. If you have a buddy that already has the rules, you are good – go buy more planes! If not, buy a copy of the rules. |

I think you'll find that the rules are available for download as PDF legally. Try somewhere like this… link There are also a number of Plane Boards available for download from the same site… link But what you will still need is the damage decks and the range sticks. |
