A very Happy International Women's Day to all female gamers!

Particularly today, may your dice roll uncannily in your favour, may your army selection be right on the button, and may your can of Dullcote be full and not frost up anything. :)

And more particularly –

Thank you for choosing to participate in what is such a male-dominated, male-oriented hobby, offering perspectives, ideas, thoughts and techniques we guys might not have achieved. We are enriched by your presence, and happy you are here!

I see the Bug is especially happy to add its wishes to women gamers everywhere…

In particular, thank you to Annie Norman & her Bad Squiddo business efforts to encourage more reasonable female miniatures.

i am surprised more women are not gamers. I mean, who would not want to be in charge of leading an army to victory (albeit miniatures on a tabletop)? Many women are in charge of families, businesses, and are in the armed forces, so why not be in charge of gaming figures? Come on, ladies, join the fun and come on in to wargaming! You WILL be welcomed…

Hail to my Missus, who even dresses up for games! In this case, leading Irish tramp sailors in a Fenian uprising.

Can't wait to celebrate international mens day and deepones day and ethereal beings day etc, I am very much a equal opportunity kind of being. Long lives to the ones who make us celebrate stuff.

I have had the pleasure of gaming with Mrs. piper909. She is definitely an asset for any game.

Other then Blood Bowl, I mainly just paint the miniatures.

But I am UNBEATABLE in RISK.

My wife, bless her heart, just isn't a true gamer in the same way most of us here are. But I love playing Scrabble with her. The one or two times I've won, I felt like I'd earned it.

My wife has also tried "Settlers of Catan" with me, although I don't consider it to be a true two-player game. She has also played a really light-weight game called, "Here Kitty Kitty!", which we've also played with my step-daughter and her boyfriend.

I've also tried to get my wife to play "Zombies: Director's Cut." I've promised to coach her, give her multiple shotgun guys, and even let her win. She just won't do it. Go figure!

Jeff

P.S. I've had the honor of knowing and gaming with Piper909's wife myself. She is a truly wonderful lady.

Another one! Black Polly sets sail! A dangerous day on the waves -- she had to scuttle her ship to prevent its capture by treacherous buccaneers, but succeeded in taking them all down to Davy Jones with her!
