Meet the Heroes: British Lieutenant Joseph Winston (Pat) Glover & Myrtle Para- Chick

Don't mess with Para-Chicks! :)

As Myrtle is quite hard to spot on the Green, here is a little help:

The whole story which is quite funny actually: stoessisheroes.com/meet-the-heroes-british-lieutenant-joseph-winston-pat-glover-myrtle-para-chick

OK, that has to be one of the odder stories from WWII that I have heard.

At least Myrtle didn't chicken out!

Oh come on, someone was going to say it!

She flew tew!

Alun Armstrong was a ruggedly handsome man when younger, but he lost the handsomeness not many years after "ABtF" was filmed. Still a terrific actor though!

They tried to use her as a secret weapon, but most of the Germans were married and already hen pecked

She was famous for her prowess in hen-to-hen combat and was once called up before the beak for fowl behaviour, though if she was egged-on she might take someone under her wing, but eventually she went to pot.

I think she had a crush on Colonel Sanders also!

She was a Certified Specialist Grade A in combat with Hen Grenades.

Sorry I simply do not get the yolk here

uglyfatbloke12 Mar 2017 7:51 a.m. PST

That's all white; the yolk's on you. I wonder how she cope with shells? Did she crack?
Also, you can't use enamels or acrylics…you need eggshell.

…and of course she was a member of 1st Avian Division, which had very bad cluck at Arnhem.
