Hi, I was at my local Walmart checking out the matchbox cars. And I saw this new item next to the toy cars. It's called play tape. It appears to be tape with asphalt roads printed on it. It comes in either two or four inches wide. And in black, blue, and red. And its about 30 feet to a roll. I haven't picked up any to see how it is yet. Anyway I thought people might be interested in it.

And curves! And train tracks! And mud tracks! |

Looks pretty neat. A pity about so many logos on it though. Still, a very decent, and useful option for many, I suspect. |

Perhaps you can get that lovely, German Noch stuff for less. |

I got the mud version for my 19th century games. There is a hint of tire tracks here and there, but invocation of the two foot rule pretty much eliminates them. |

A pity about so many logos on it though. Are there logos on any besides the two Hot Wheels? Doug |

I use those and I stick them to cheap magnetic sheets… You can cut the segments with the logos out… they are then reusable.. and you can make them stick together by using little metal thin bases in the US … Ant they look awesome…I'll see if I can post some pictures… Francisco |

I guess TRU probably has them too. |

I am actually using these. I have stuck mine to plastic yard sale, etc… signs to make it a bit sturdier. They work well for me. |

Black roofing moisture barrier paper works well. Had a large leftover roll in my garage. Cut it to what ever design required. Velcro holds to felt well, to avoid the curl syndrome. |

I found these at Hobby Lobby some time ago. I reached out to the company, and had an exchange with the owner about the possibilities for gamers. He seemed intrigued by the idea of doing other types of roads (unmarked asphalt, cobblestone, dusty dirt rather than mud, etc…). I pointed him to some B&M stores & gaming distributors, but never heard anything further. |

Looks good! I've thought about using this stuf on several occasions (wouldn't be hard to touch up over the logos) but after maiking a whole stack of roads from roofing tiles, I think I'm done making roads. |
