In association with my pseudo-Trojan War project, I was goofing off on youtube and ran across this presentation by Dr. Eberhard Zangger on the Luwians:

It might be interesting to some of you who, like me, are wrestling with the historical context of the Trojans and their allies.

I've got a Luwian project going too, details here. Always after some good info, or a few words from those with similar interests!

Swampking, any details of your project?

This project will probably be my last wargaming project – getting a bit too old to paint 15mm but it's going to be a massive one:

80 archer/javelin chariots & 1300 infantry for the Luwian confederation, plus Amazons

60 archer/javelin/lance chariots for Acheans and around the same amount of infantry as the Luwians but I will give them more *punch*, i.e. they will have more heavy infantry than the Luwians to offset the Luwians chariots.

Plus, I have been trying to work out a way to do a city like Troy on the cheap but that will be the last thing.

Been buying figures for the past 6 months or so but also, work and life keeps on distracting me from painting. However, I'm expecting to finish off several contingents within the next couple of weeks.

Wow, massive project alright. I'm betting it will look amazing when finished.
