"Rear views of Muslim armour, 14thC" Topic

Rear views of muslim warriors showing how armour looks at the back are not common. Here are some from the 14th century:
Ilkhanid Soldiers in the 'Demotte' Shahnameh, A Battle Scene, Tabriz, c.1340-1350 This also shows some unusual neck armour.

Interesting how the fleeing cav don't do any Parthian shots. So these are real routing guys, not just "fleeing".

Unfortunately the Diez album was made by cutting the pictures out of a manuscript, so there is no text to give a better idea of what is happening, but, scabbards and bowcases are empty.
