I want to use TMWWBK to do the "what-if" British invasion of Montana as described in Harry Turtledove's book, "How Few Remain." I thought it would be a good way to get some additional use out of my Ral Partha 25mm Colonial figures.

Since the invasion takes place in 1881 (1882?), I thought the US Pony war figures might work better than Union ACW figures.

Both Dixon and RAFM have 25mm Pony War figures. I was wondering if anyone knew which range would be a better match in terms of size with the Ral Partha colonial figures?

On a slightly different note, the Ral Partha figures used to be available from Great Endeavours but their website has gone off line. Does anyone know what is going on with them?

Thanks.

I don't have much experience with Dixon, but Ral Partha and RAFM should work fine together, but the RAFM will be a little more thick or stout looking.

if the pony war range by Ral Partha is similar in style and size to the Colonial one which i owned..they really don't mix well with Dixon..it's a completly different style..in fact, once pianted, i discovered that Ral Partha mix well only with 1:72 today's plastic pieces..

Ral Partha has a Colonial range, not a Pony War range. It's the Dixon and RAFM Pony War ranges I'm curious about.

Ral Partha is slighlty smaller and far more slender than RAFM, and shorter than Dixon.

The Dixon heads are about five times the volume of the Ral Partha.

I wouldn't consider mixing them on the same table.

I am not inclined to mix RalPartha with RAFM. A few leader figures (that could be larger is about as far as I have gone).

A rank and file unit would never make an appearance on the same table for me.

Dixon figures are right out.

How do the RAFM Pony War figures compare in size to the Foundry Pony War figures? Which is smaller?

rmaker04 Mar 2017 10:09 p.m. PST

Dixons aren't really 25s,more like 30's.

Atomic Floozy04 Mar 2017 11:17 p.m. PST

RAFM & Ral Partha are 25s.

Dixon, Foundry, Old Glory, West Wind, Artizan, & Knuckleduster are in the 28mm to 30mm range.
