Still lacks the QA/QC that Western-built equipment has, though.

For that matter, China can't even reverse-engineer Russian jet engines yet. American jets run at least 1000 hours (technically 6000 cycles from idle to full power) between overhauls, Russian engines last 350-500 hours, and Chinese copies of Russian engines last 35 hours. Plus the Chinese engines take far longer to spool up.
