Greetings, Ever since reading Alistair Hornes brilliant Price of Glory I have been fascinated with the Battle of Verdun. I was lucky enough to visit the battlefield 12 years ago and especially the Bois des Caures and the place where one of my heroes Lt-Col Driant fell. I played the Caures scenario a few times about 20 years ago with 6mm which have long disappeared. I wish to rebuild my 6mm collection and play some big battles. Maybe not the entire battle for Verdun but selected vignettes. From those earlier games I have Over the top(GDW) and also used WTJ's 1916. I am now looking for suggestions to play this type of game now. Suggestions for rules? |

Great War Spearhead or a mod of Bloody Big Battles would be my suggestions. |

over the top and 1916 are both quite fun. Spearhead can get quite large and plays easily |

You could try Westfront: link |

For division and up, Great War Spearhead or Square Bashing. Both use one base to a company, but obviously you could drop the level to one base to a platoon and still use OTT to fight Colonel Driants action. |

Great War Spearhead is also my suggestion, or otherwise a very very modded version of BBB. |

Great War Spearhead II, or Square Bashing for the divisional level. |
