One day, opened acct, second day locked due to blitzed pass words overlapping from my PC to my cell phone. PP thought it is two accounts and refused to recognize my home phone so asked me to verify a brand new acct with a brand new password which of course it didn't recognize. And there is no way in hell you can get a human being to answer a phone, they don't exist. So you vendors and traders who only do business thru PayPal, you will never ever get business from me….. end of line….. |

On the other hand, I had something similar happen to me two weeks ago. I called in and had a conversation with a human on the other end. We got my problem resolved and I continue to use PayPal for nearly all of my online purchases. |

I haven't had a problem with them (knock on wood). I use them because that way the various vendors (many small businesses) do not have my credit card info. Paypal has to get hacked. Not saying it can't be done, but the data isn't all over the place. Also, when dealing direct with foreign figure vendors, Paypal does the currency conversion. |

Justin how did you get a living "carbon unit" on the bloody phone? |

I've been with PayPal for over 10 years and have yet to run across any problem with them. |

Likewise, been using PayPal since the early oughts, if not the late nineties, when they came out. On both my PC and mobile device. Never had an issue. Though, as a general rule, I find customer service is best reachable during normal business hours, did you try that? However, from the sounds of it, the vendors might be better off without the business! |

Since the paypal system has a pre recorded set up but uses voice recognition, if you just keep repeating operator I guarantee you will get a human being to answer. |

I agree, you have to be persistent and repeat operator, agent or even human over and over and sooner or later you'll speak to someone live. |

My mother somehow has spoken to Paypal people several times, since she likes to phone them every time she gets a phishing e-mail related to her account, because she thinks "they'd like to know someone's trying to hack them". |

I spoke to them once. The only time I had an issue. I do recall it was a bit hard to find a number where there was a person. Very friendly and great service when I did though. |

I've been using PayPal for 15 years and find their customer service to be top notch, as they've fixed every issue I've ever had with a seller or a buyer. |

It took me a while the last time I had to file a complaint over merchandise that was never delivered (from overseas) and no response from the seller. The PayPal system wouldn't recognize the transaction as valid in some weird way so I couldn't do any of this via the normal online system. I had to find a phone number to call and go thru auto-voice mail menu hell until I reached a living carbon unit who then was very helpful in resolving the problem. But it takes a lot of perseverance and aggro. |

Been using them since their 1st/2nd year of business -- don't remember how long it has been. I've used them both as a buyer, and a seller. Had to file a non-delivery of goods claim, once, for an e-Bay seller: no issues. Love using PayPal for the aforementioned currency conversion automatic system. Cheers! |

Ok I'll give it a go- will try the operator' option. Really wanting this to work out, but my first impression was a bowl of doo doo. |

Ok Great if you buy though them and something goes wrong you will get your cash back But to get a carbon to speak to is not impossible but just """"" hard But they do seem to be fuzzy sometimes like you would think that as their European headquarters is only 15 klics from me they would know the REPUBLIC OF IRELAND IS NOT part of the UK. also they have sent me emails asking for my email address. To which I reply my email address is the one you sent this email to. |
Khusrau | 01 Mar 2017 4:41 p.m. PST |
yeah jah1956, but you would also expect all UK websites to know that Scottish cities don't have a 'county'. |

Well Khusrau this is the English you have proper/real England and then everything north of Cambridge is some where else. |

I got to speak to a real homosapien, sorted everything out after speaking into the phone 'operator operator operator' – Its like a magic spell or something, the man got it sorted right out in like 10 minutes…..just ordered some custom laser etched dice for CC Napoleonic and ancients. I'm new to this, overseas transactions work how?……………. |

Ah, the unique logic of the Emerald Isle, Jah. If I didn't have an Irish mother I'd never have appreciated the veracity of all those Irish jokes. |
