Lieutenant – Seems I'm a good leader and strategist, but too nice to be in the higher ranks.

princeman26 Feb 2017 5:11 p.m. PST

Me too. Thought it would higher!

Bashytubits26 Feb 2017 5:12 p.m. PST

I got general, I am nice as long as you do what I say.

45thdiv26 Feb 2017 5:21 p.m. PST

I made General.

amoryms26 Feb 2017 5:32 p.m. PST

PFC: praying for civilian.

rustymusket26 Feb 2017 5:33 p.m. PST

I got bored with the quiz after 26 questions. I just wanted to charge anything.

Ragbones26 Feb 2017 5:38 p.m. PST

I made General, too. That was funny. Thanks for posting.

Private. And I have to say that quiz offers so many spelling and grammatical mistakes and plain dumb questions that I don't really have much faith in its predictive capability.

In reality I am the very model of a modern major-general.

Wackmole926 Feb 2017 5:44 p.m. PST

I made SGT.

Grelber26 Feb 2017 5:54 p.m. PST

Lieutenant. Guess I'm lucky to have reached a civil service position that is a major equivalent.

Grelber

Zargon26 Feb 2017 6:01 p.m. PST

I own the army, Koining Graf Von Munchchouzen Gunter der 3rd. My guard units all look pretty, ny soldiers call me Herr Korporal and love me.

Lascaris26 Feb 2017 6:03 p.m. PST

General. You may all salute me now.

taskforce5826 Feb 2017 6:10 p.m. PST

That being said like Grelber my equivalents in the miltary are at the rank of Major

skippy000126 Feb 2017 6:26 p.m. PST

Lt. so keep me away from maps.

Private (in RL, made E-5 and passed on the chance to
go to OCS).

Just to private. But I got 48 of the 1980s movies correct, and 49 of the 1960s ones (I never did see inside Daisy clover)

Sundance26 Feb 2017 8:58 p.m. PST

Haha! That was just dumb. I scored private, but in reality, I'm a sergeant first class going for warrant officer.

tkdguy26 Feb 2017 10:40 p.m. PST

I made it to general in this quiz. In real life, I'd probably stay a private forever.

Sho Boki Sponsoring Member of TMP26 Feb 2017 10:43 p.m. PST

General, test says.
But I am only retired captain. What a waste..

Supercilius Maximus27 Feb 2017 12:57 a.m. PST

Well, I never knew "deserter" was an actual rank.

Bob the Temple Builder27 Feb 2017 3:21 a.m. PST

I was once the only civilian on a committee that was otherwise made up of military officers. The chair – a Major General – was unsure how I fitted into the hierarchy, and asked what 'rank' I was. I explained what I did for a living (I was the equivalent of the deputy headteacher of a school), and he decided that the military equivalent was a Lieutenant Colonel … and that was how I was treated from then on.

My maternal grandfather would have been horrified; he was an RSM and had very little time for 'Ruperts'!

Volleyfire27 Feb 2017 3:42 a.m. PST

General, but only by answering using the bottom answer all along. :-) Mind you I'd have used most of those anyway. Perhaps I should take it again. hmmm.

genew4927 Feb 2017 7:41 a.m. PST

Anyone interested in a Medicare-eligible Lieutenant?

Allen5727 Feb 2017 8:23 a.m. PST

I was a Lt.Commander (=Army Major) in the Navy. Only made Lt. in the quiz.

15th Hussar27 Feb 2017 8:44 a.m. PST

How come there is no "Lord High God Commander of the Universe" rank???

peterx Supporting Member of TMP27 Feb 2017 8:57 a.m. PST

Sergeant. I get that.

farnox27 Feb 2017 9:06 a.m. PST

Lt Dan

Jcfrog27 Feb 2017 12:17 p.m. PST

General too. But they had no admirals.

Volleyfire27 Feb 2017 2:38 p.m. PST

Tried it again without cheating this time, and still came out as General even though most of my answers were completely different to first time around. Oh well 'shrug'.

robert piepenbrink Supporting Member of TMP27 Feb 2017 6:15 p.m. PST

Private. The USAF thought I was at least worth E-6, and the Army topped me out at E-7. These people have higher standards, I suppose.

But NONE of those war movies had John Wayne! Is that even legal?

15th Hussar27 Feb 2017 7:16 p.m. PST

But NONE of those war movies had John Wayne! Is that even legal?

You'd think "They were Expendable" or one of the John Ford US Cavalry Trilogy (Quad if you count Horse Soldiers). would be in the mix.

CeruLucifus27 Feb 2017 9:42 p.m. PST

Got to question #26 and gave up.

Rod I Robertson27 Feb 2017 9:51 p.m. PST

I only made private, so the test is clearly flawed. I would be run out of any but the most despicable armed forces in no time flat and if allowed to stay, I would rot it from within. I'm not military material and I buck authority reflexively. I do like hitting things though!

Cheers.
Rod Robertson.

I was an Infantry, 0-3/CPT, '79-'90 … So I didn't go to the link and take the test … evil grin I'm satisfied with that …

Old Wolfman28 Feb 2017 10:03 a.m. PST

Likely would have flunked the physical. But I tested out as a sergeant, and likely as a drill sergeant.

COL Scott ret28 Feb 2017 11:05 p.m. PST

My real rank is Colonel U.S.Army, this said Lieutenant….

Good thing the Army has 241 more years of experience choosing leaders than that survey. Fun but few of the answers had choices I would prefer.

Supercilius Maximus01 Mar 2017 1:09 a.m. PST

Yes. "None of the above" would have been my most common answer, if allowed.

Khusrau01 Mar 2017 4:05 p.m. PST

Yep, I'm too nice (ha!) – my old civilian service role was Brigadier equivalent according to the Australian Defence Force. Personally I think they rank it low, with Secretary of a Federal Department ranked as a 'General'.
