Private. And I have to say that quiz offers so many spelling and grammatical mistakes and plain dumb questions that I don't really have much faith in its predictive capability.

In reality I am the very model of a modern major-general.

Haha! That was just dumb. I scored private, but in reality, I'm a sergeant first class going for warrant officer.

Well, I never knew "deserter" was an actual rank.

I was once the only civilian on a committee that was otherwise made up of military officers. The chair – a Major General – was unsure how I fitted into the hierarchy, and asked what 'rank' I was. I explained what I did for a living (I was the equivalent of the deputy headteacher of a school), and he decided that the military equivalent was a Lieutenant Colonel … and that was how I was treated from then on.

My maternal grandfather would have been horrified; he was an RSM and had very little time for 'Ruperts'!

General, but only by answering using the bottom answer all along. :-) Mind you I'd have used most of those anyway. Perhaps I should take it again. hmmm.

I was a Lt.Commander (=Army Major) in the Navy. Only made Lt. in the quiz.

How come there is no "Lord High God Commander of the Universe" rank???

Tried it again without cheating this time, and still came out as General even though most of my answers were completely different to first time around. Oh well 'shrug'.

Private. The USAF thought I was at least worth E-6, and the Army topped me out at E-7. These people have higher standards, I suppose.

You'd think "They were Expendable" or one of the John Ford US Cavalry Trilogy (Quad if you count Horse Soldiers). would be in the mix.

Got to question #26 and gave up.

I only made private, so the test is clearly flawed. I would be run out of any but the most despicable armed forces in no time flat and if allowed to stay, I would rot it from within. I'm not military material and I buck authority reflexively. I do like hitting things though!

Likely would have flunked the physical. But I tested out as a sergeant,and likely as a drill sergeant.

Good thing the Army has 241 more years of experience choosing leaders than that survey. Fun but few of the answers had choices I would prefer.

Yes. "None of the above" would have been my most common answer, if allowed.

Yep, I'm too nice (ha!) – my old civilian service role was Brigadier equivalent according to the Australian Defence Force. Personally I think they rank it low, with Secretary of a Federal Department ranked as a 'General'.
