Came across this piece. Might be fun for a pulp scenario.

A then an ambitious salvage diver breaks the seal … and out spills a menagerie of bloodthirsty aquatic alien creatures that forever change our seas.

And going to the beach will never be the same ever again.

I wondered what became of the Millenium Falcon!

I think I'd run it as a RPG -- probably Traveller or Delta Green -- rather than a miniatures game.

At least until the aliens show up in force to retrieve their lost item.

Baltic Sea? That'll be the Russians then. Nothing to worry about.

Quick, call Professor Quatermass – nothing could go wrong then! (See 5 Million Years to Earth)

I think Andre Norton already did this one. Galactic Derelict. Be very VERY careful which buttons you push.

A group of cultist divers swim down and perform the ritual to open the chamber and awaken the Great Old One….

The link provided by Hafen had the following towards the end of it

"A sample recovered by divers was reportedly found to contain limonite and goethite. Israeli geologist Steve Weiner claimed that these materials are metals which nature could not reproduce itself"

Except that both are naturally occurring mineral compounds and used for paint pigments. And it is also amazing that they could recover a sample when their equipment would supposedly cease working near it.

That geologist is an utter fool if he believes limonite and goethite are not naturally-occurring. There are quite a few iron sinks near me that were mined in the past, and the pits are full of remnant limonite among other minerals.

Like herkybird said, it looks like the Millenium Falcon. However, it may just as easily be a Cylon fighter. Beware of what comes out if we open it!
