Remember back to that most recent time when you felt great and that life couldn't get better. You were alone or with someone you wanted to be with, you were doing absolutely nothing or something that made you feel " hey, life couldn't get better. Life is good".

Well, that is the time the Zombie Apocalypse hits near you!

How prepared would you have been? Think you can survive now?

For me, on a beach in the sunshine miles and miles from home with my partner and without the children. And wearing poorly fitting flip- flops! I think I'm likely to become a casualty pretty quickly.

And you? Would you have sufficient things nearby to help your survival?

Yes. The small bag the middle size bag, and in the car or truck the Big bag. Ready for nukes since 1979.

Not in the least, I would've been zombie lunch. When I'm home I probably would be able hold out indefinitely provide I don't run across armed bad guys who are younger and in better shape. I have the survival skills having gone through SERE school as well as multiple wilderness survival courses in a wide variety of climates. I am quite capable of growing food and tending livestock due to past experiences. My one weakness is that I'm getting older (nearing 60) and have treated my body more as a frat house than a temple.

thorr66622 Feb 2017 9:51 a.m. PST

I'm a cripple, so no chance of survival

Based on a bit of cursory research of zombie behaviour I believe I have formulated a foolproof plan to escape their clutches. I propose to walk briskly in the opposite direction….

I have a get-home bag in my truck. I'm also in law enforcement and am armed to the teeth. Zombies don't scare me…unless they are clown zombies. I don't like clown zombies.

Armed at all times, never let the gas get less than 1/2 a tank with some food and water in the car for all "in case of" situations.
If I'm at home it's all good in the hood.

I have diabetes so I am a first waver, I would go out in a blaze of glory trying to save someone.

Let's see … snuggling wint SWMBO on a bean bag on the floor watching SPECTRE (neither had seen it yet) this past Sunday.

I've got supplies and a reasonably defensible house (about one acre, with good lines of sight out to the fences).

The two challenges:

(1) persistent, large threat – monitoring fatigue and if we can be swarmed by hundreds at a time, the two of us won't be able to hold out.

(2) the short, mid-range – I have supplies. I can farm and tend animals. I have no livestock. I have no acres of crops right now, so getting from out of supplies to sustenance farming would be tough. I would have to ration and go down and fish the Potomac to have a (slim) chance.

If home I should run out of booze before ammo. After I run out of ammo I will be so mad about the booze situation I will probably charge the remaining horde with hand weapons. Then die. No real farming skills or defensible land so this plan will work for me.

I'm pretty sure I'm the lead character, so I'll be fine.

After 9/11 I vowed to always wear shoes you could run in.

Ditto

No lead character here. I'm cannon fodder and certain doom

Biggest mistake we all make:
"I have to have lots of guns n Ammo." As a last resort.
Every shot only brings more.

Depends on which 'movie' occurs:
Real Zombies only "Shamble". Move slow and w/ little coordination.
Just side-step and 'bash'm in the head'. "Shaun of the Dead" 101

Or Fake Zombie's. They "Scramble". And can out run the avg. American. Gonna need some agility here. Im hamburger.

Over 50 now, but still got some upper body strength.
Pretty sure I'd get 3-4 before I have to go to the fire power.

The legs? Well..
Ive been out run by a kite, w/ wind at my back, Down hill!

I always remember that ol song "Save the last 'cap' for ME".
Happy End of the World ya'll grin
