"Welcome to V4! With the first two mid-war books now upon us (or nearly so) it's time for some good ole' spoilers and thoughts from your WWPD team. First up, we're taking a look at Afrika Corps, the German V4 book covering the fight in North Africa.
This book, and it's counter part Desert Rats, are supposed to show us how the implementation for V4 will work. Unlike Early and Late-War Battlefront is waving a magic version wand and changing everything all at once.
The books also give us great insight into what future books built entirely for V4 may look like. We already know that US and Italian forces are coming by the early summer with the Eastern front due to arrive before the fall. We also heard rumors that the Pacific and the Far East will be added in late 2017 or early next year…"

Disappointing they are removing so much of the history. Was naming the tanks by their marks so hard? |

It always amazes me how much support a player's lucky infantry company can have. |

Naming Panzers by their Mark such as Pz III H may not have been as prevalent as we think at the time. Looking into this for my games, and I used to be fluent in German, they seem to have classed tanks by gun, either short or long, rather than exact Mark. Some of the up gunned and up armored versions are referred to by some historians simply as Specials. When you look at details of German production where one model's features often merged into the next model in a series of changes rather than all at once and where tanks returned from the front for major overhaul an repair were often upgraded, for example with appliqué armor and the latest model gun, this becomes more understandable. Don't get me wrong. I'm in no way an apologist for V4. Just sharing thoughts. Cheers! Lee |
