New Years Resolution:

1. No project scope creep.
2. Minimalist approach.
3. Cinematic set terrain.
4. No more than 12 28mm figures (of all sides) per game.

Project: Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea

Required material:

3 each Artisan pulp figures wearing leather jackets, peaked caps and armed with 45s. Nelson, Crane and Morton.

4 converted Black Tree US tank crewman in coveralls armed with 45s and a Thompson.

(still not exceeding six total Seaview personnel per game)

1 Aurora flying sub.

And the real inspiration, 1 approximately sized and shaped valentine's Day candy bowl for the bow and control room of Seaview.

Opposition: Whatever pulp, eastern-bloc, bug-eyed monsters and aliens I find on my shelf that day.

Rules: Toss up between Chain Reaction 3 and a more serious 7TV approach.

Oh yes, and a diving bell from a plastic bobber (the same way I made a 28mm Vostok spacecraft.

If I happen to stumble upon a suitable sized drop tank, I may try a minisub.

I like the sound of that project!

Episode 1. Admiral Nelson is possessed.
Episode 2. Captain Crane is possessed.
Episode 3. Chief Kowalski is possessed.

Bashytubits20 Feb 2017 1:27 p.m. PST

You forgot Epidsode 4. The Seaview is possessed.

Seasons 3/4:

Seaview invaded by werewolf.
Seaview invaded by mummy.
Seaview invaded by Creature from the Black Lagoon.

And who could forget:
Seaview invaded by Vincent Price and his Evil Puppets!

Kowalski was not a chief, but you've got the idea.

skippy000120 Feb 2017 3:27 p.m. PST

NEVER send a charge through the hull when Kowalski is taking a shower. Giant monsters ONLY grab the forward part of the ship and roll it back and forth. No one has ever figured out where the torpedo bay doors are. There is no room for the flying sub under the observation deck. From all their adventures the crew should have MK 1 Irwin Allen Lase Rifles. When the CIC consoles blow up they are repaired under 15 minutes.

Yeah, I watched waaaay too much of that show.

Nice project idea.

Due to government cut backs … The Seaview is sold and ends up as a Disney Ride. huh? I used to love that show !

Pyrate Captain20 Feb 2017 6:27 p.m. PST

Thanks Sir Walter, for the encouragement.

Please don't let Disney take over another classic!

I had no idea that VTTBOTS would cause trauma.

How will you model all the sparks? Remember to add rules for being tossed from one side of the ship to the other.

Pyrate Captain21 Feb 2017 5:26 a.m. PST

If one can model flames one can model sparks. I'll just have to make the rolling deck a part of shock.

Thanks HvS for the pings.

They're supposedly relaxing.

"And in that sleep, what dreams may come?".

Would like to see a picture of the 28mm scale diving bell made from a plastic bobber when you get it finished.
