I admit to being a dumb American with little knowledge of Australian history beyond Ned Kelly and Eureka Stockade. I recently watched William Kelly's War and found the violent depiction of the family of cattle rustlers both chilling and surprising. It was something I would expect in a Hollywood Western, but it seemed very out of place in a tea drinking British Commonwealth country with uniformed constabulary. Were the sparely populated areas of Australia really this lawless, as late as the early 1900s? |

In short, no. The long answer is far more complicated, hut basically ends with a "no" as well. |

Had never heard of the film, but I looked it up. Sounds like complete nonsense. |
