I'm not a vehicle person.

Are the vehicles of particular makes or models? Does it/should it matter?

They look pretty cool, anyway.

It certainly would not mater to me. most vehicles used as technicals performances would not differ enough in performance to bother about in a game.

Why don't you ask the guys at Spectre Miniatures?

I think they are ambiguous to avoid IP infringement.

I think they are generic like some of the cars you see in adverts.

Yeah, they're close enough to look like several different vehicles, but not close enough to trigger lawsuits.

Off-road-spec SUV looks like a mid-2000s Jeep Cherokee, the Technical Alfa looks like a late 1980s Nissan or Chevy Luv.

Technicals fill the niche of traditional light cavalry. Their major asset is speed and mobility, as well as their ability to strike from unexpected directions with automatic fire and light troop deployment.

Among irregular armies, often centered on the perceived strength and charisma of warlords, the prestige of technicals is strong. According to one article, "The Technical is the most significant symbol of power in southern Somalia. It is a small truck with large tripod machine guns mounted on the back. A warlord's power is measured by how many of these vehicles he has".
