Hi Everyone,

This week I have fought the next battle in my on-going Hyborian HOTT campaign. This was a clash in the desert between the desert raiders of Shem who had archers and riders alongside Conan against the more traditional spear/knight/bow heavy Koth Ophir army who were defending a fort.

A certain Red Sonja decided to be with the Koth Ophirs as a mercenary in their army. What followed was an enjoyable battle with the outcome undecided until the last throw of the dice.

Here are some pictures.

Hope you enjoy the battle. The figures are a mix of 25mm Garrison Sword&Sorcery with the camel riding Sons of Shem from Hinchcliffe. Conan is by Heritage and Red Sonja by Ral Partha. As always comments and crits welcome.

The Garrison figures are lovely "old school" miniatures. It's a shame they're no longer available.
Getting the occasional few figures from ebay is a slow, slow process.

Regards,

Geoff

Do you have armies for all of the countries, or do you use the same troops for the various nations?

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I hope that Rob might relent and cast up some more Garrison stuff one day, but am greatful that he got the old Garrison lines up for a while and allowed me to buy what I wanted to get these S&S armies done.

79th I have made up a lot of Hyborian armies. Enough to do the knock-out style campaign that I am doing along with the necessary strongholds.

So I have in no particular order: Stygia, Vendhya, Hyrkania, Turan, Zamora, Corinthia, Koth-Ophir, Corinthia, Pict, Cimmeria,Asgard, Hyperboria, Zingaria, Argos, Aquilonia, Nemedia, Khitai and Pathenia.

There are of course many other nations: Brythunia, Vanaheim, The border kingdoms, Ghulistan,Iranistan, the Black Kingdoms but at the moment that's all for me. As far as I see it some of these smaller nations might not have an army large enough to run in a campaign. That might change as I love making the strongholds and concocting armies from lost forgotten figures.

Cool. As I mentioned before, you inspired me to get off my butt and get started on my own 25mm Hyborean Age HOTT armies. I have completed Stygia and Cimmeria. I need to get them based and I will post some pics on my flickr account. Next on the list is Aquilonia, Nemedia, and the Picts.

Great news 79th. Look forward to seeing them.
