Chicken in the weekly flyer are 1.19/lb. USD today. These are 1.29…. seems pretty fair to me.

Looks like there are a couple roosters in there--entertain your lead warriors by giving them cock fights to bet on! Or, the cockfight could spark a barroom brawl for D&D characters, Vikings or whatever.

I use some old Mega Miniatures brand Chickens and Goats, for Routing and Shaken markers. I used to use colored pipe cleaners: yellow, for Shaken troops, red for Routing troops. Now I use Goats for Shaken troops (a Goat will not head-butt you frontally, but they will smack you in the rear, or side…), and Chickens for Routing troops (no explanation necessary). They look better, IMHO, than pipe cleaners.

I made certain to buy enough of each animal (12 of each type), so that I would have plenty of markers for my games. So far, I have never run out -- so far… Cheers!
