A friend and I are beginning to raise forces to fight armored battles in 1:285 scale in the North African desert. Our endeavors will fall between the introduction of the Deutsches Africa Korps (DAK) and the retreat of the 8th Army into the El Alamein position.

Both of us are using the GHQ excellent line of WW2 vehicles.

I've posted some pictures of my forces on my blog.

Very impressive. I have a thing for the NA battles all the way through the German surrender. No one had settled on a single tank design so lots of cool tanks. And I think BKC in 1/285 allows decent desert battles.

GHQ make some of the best castings out there. Nice work!

Thanks guys.

I've been interested in the North African campaign since I wrote a term paper for my college English class on Rommel and his (lack of) logistics interest way back in 1969.

I even had a 1:76 scale beginnings of a collection at one time.

But these GHQ models are great looking and do give a decent battle using the BKC II rules.
