I am running an 1813 game from the (rather excellent) General de Brigade scenario book (vol 6 Imperial sunset) and would like to hear from anyone who has successfully used BP modifications to represent conscript and 2nd class line units please. Many thanks Marc |

Greetings Not speaking to Napoleonic specifically but I have used the special rules to model how different troops reacted at different times. So for conscripts, depending on circumstances, I would look at one or more of: – fresh raised (test for panic) – unreliable – untested (random stamina) – better for a single unit – wavering – only if real dregs so probably not what you need In addition you could think about reducing hand to hand, shooting and/or stamina by 1 (as the rules do this for Crimea Russian militia/reserve infantry). Thanks Edward, some good ideas there. I am scared of unbalancing the game by trying too many options, as some of those look painful if I understand how they work, But I will read them all again and see how to make them work in conjunction. And I hadn't paid attention to the Crimea version, so I will look over that again as well. Thanks |

I'm scared of unbalancing the game Not much fear of that. It's not balanced to start with. |

We enjoy it though. As a game So I try to balance it for the scenario so both sides get a fair crack at their victory conditions |

I have a collection of Black Powder Rules modifications which may be of some use. Hope it helps. Take care Andy |

Andy, that's a really helpful link. Thanks. I have the two Naps books, but they didn't give me enough for conscripts and 2nd class line etc, so there is some good stuff there Thanks again Marc |
