I am running two scenarios at Cold Wars 2017 in Lancaster PA, Friday March 17. Both are Full Thrust Lite variants.

First is at 2pm, and is a generic fleet battle between the Federation and Klingons, basically a blast 'em event.

F: 228 Federation vs Klingons fleet battle
Friday, 2:00:00 PM, 4 hrs, 6 Players
GM: William Stec
Sponsor: None, Prize: None
Period: SciFi, Scale: Other, Rules: Full Thrust Lite variant
This is a chance to fight a generic fleet battle between the Federation and Klingons. The objective is to blow up ships and have fun. All your ships got killed? No problem, there are reinforcements arriving… New players welcome. Children 10 and older welcome with adult who is present the entire event.

Second event is at 7pm, and is a capture Deep Space Nine scenario.

F: 229 Battle for Deep Space Nine
Friday, 7:00:00 PM, 4 hrs, 6 Players
GM: William Stec
Sponsor: None, Prize: None
Period: SciFi, Scale: Other, Rules: Full Thrust Lite variant
The Federation and Klingons are at war. The Klingons attempt to capture Deep Space Nine to cement their control of this sector. The Klingons are confident of victory, despite the arrival of Federation reinforcements. Expect a bloody battle with lots of casualties. Can the Klingons succeed against all odds, or will the Federation defenders prevail? Children 10 years and older welcome with adult who is present the entire event.

Sneak peek preview of the scenario that I am testing now:

I played his game last year and it really was a blast! Or a phase! Nice models, nice table, simplified full thrust for big fleets. I am glad he is doing it again.

LMV, you thinking of joining in again? :)

Great collection of ships.. thats not going to be a 'battle', thats going to be a BRAWL.

Looks like combination of MM's, and Shapeways.
The Galaxy, Nebula and the Excellsior's are MM?
And Ive only seen the 'Steamrunners' done by Shapeways.

I can see at least 3 MM Vorcha, cool ship.
I have 4, painted then in a grey w a blk wash to highlite detail.
Very happy w/ the results.

The Galaxy, Nebula, Excelsiors, are Furuta miniatures.

Both scenarios went very well.

Capture Deep Space Nine scenario report:

The Klingons objective was to capture the station by holding the station core at scenarios end.

I gave the Klingons an assault troop transport, which even though the Federation players got a good scan of on Turn 1 and were shown the SSD, they didn't take it very seriously. They took some potshots at it, but didn't concentrate heavy fire upon it until turn 3, by which time it had unloaded a bunch of troops onto the station. This was to spell the doom of the Feds.

In an desperation measure, the station dropped shields to allow an emergency beam-in of reinforcing Federation troops from nearby Fed ships. Figuring that the Klingons were not going to shoot at the station any more (they had lots of troops all over it), the station commander dropped ALL shields instead of just the arcs facing the reinforcing Fed ships. In return, about half of the Klingon ships dropped their shields and also beamed aboard.

The Fed Marine defenders were outnumbered badly and were wiped out. I attribute the Fed loss to not taking out the transport ASAP, some very lucky transporter die rolls on the part of the Klingons, and that surprise Klingon beam-over.

Everyone had a great time.

Fleet bash scenario report:

This was a generic blast'em up fleet battle using modified Full Thrust Lite rules. As players were wiped out, I allowed them to return to the game in a new force.

Losses were high, but everyone had a good time. Each side blew up over 7200 CPV points worth of ships in 4 hours.
