DBM was once the king of the Ancients tournament scene. Now, its popularity has waned. What did you do with your DBM armies?

GarrisonMiniatures06 Feb 2017 5:04 p.m. PST

Still expanding them.

Where Are Your DBM Armies Now?

Unless they've shinnied down the drainpipe and legged it to the pub for a quick one, and maybe a curry after, I'm assuming they're still in the cupboard where I left them.

are you still using them for DBM?

Mooseworks806 Feb 2017 6:39 p.m. PST

Only had one full DBM army, Alexandrian Macedonians. It is in a box on my shelf. I've been tempted to sell it off. I did take part of it and use for a separate army.

Attalus I06 Feb 2017 7:15 p.m. PST

Using them to play DBA 3.0 & ADLG.

agrippavips06 Feb 2017 7:37 p.m. PST

Impetus Armies now.

Rebasing?

Timotheous06 Feb 2017 8:41 p.m. PST

I only had two DBM armies, for Hittite Empire and HYW English. Still using the figures for DBA 3.0 and used them for FOG-AM when I was playing that. Fortunately the basing scheme for these figures is near universal for all but a few element-based Ancients rules.

Playing BB-DBA

Tend to use a weird mix of DBA and DBM – basically DBA rules but allow Superior/Inferior troop types.

getback07 Feb 2017 2:40 a.m. PST

Using for ADLG

platypus01au07 Feb 2017 2:51 a.m. PST

Being used for DBMM.

Snowydog07 Feb 2017 4:05 a.m. PST

I have mounted mine on sabots (usually 4 elements each) and use them for either Impetus or Sword & Spear. Not tempted to totally rebase them. I think the DBM basing standard still has potential and will be used in future rules yet to come.

There was never, ever a DBM army in the house. There were a lot of castings on WRG 40mm and 60mm stands--and still are. I like DBA and HOTT, but even if something better came along, I'm not rebasing.

GurKhan07 Feb 2017 4:35 a.m. PST

Using them in DBMM.

Dexter Ward07 Feb 2017 4:38 a.m. PST

Using them for "To the Strongest", "Sword & Spear", "Field of Glory" and DBA.

Calico Bill07 Feb 2017 4:50 a.m. PST

Collecting dust in large storage boxes. I should sell them. Friends that were opponents either moved away or moved on to other periods.

Sysiphus07 Feb 2017 1:54 p.m. PST

Being fielded in DBA 3.0 games and ADLG matches.

They are now DBMM armies and getting a bit of usage.

goragrad07 Feb 2017 7:43 p.m. PST

Never quite got to the point of a DBM army, but if I had they would be doing what the DBA armies do – being used for DBA and Big Battle DBA.

When DBMM lists get updated I'll look at them.

LADG might be an option as well.

Shaun Travers09 Feb 2017 2:15 a.m. PST

Using them with other rules – with no rebasing.

kodiakblair03 Mar 2017 3:50 a.m. PST

DBM armies never actually got to be DBM armies, same as DBA armies never got to be DBA ones.

Liked the idea but I was never a DBX player
