Well, I'm quite chuffed about this…

Being still a bit wobbly at painting post-chemotherapy / radiotherapy, I've been scratching my hobby itch sculpting stuff in 3D digitally.

And now, I have the (tiny) fruits of that labour!

Shields and bazookas for my 1/400 scale Gundam Skirmish project. This involves soft-plastic Gundam Gashapon and a quite neat set of rules written by a fellow Aussie, which you can find here:

I'm building an Earth Federation Ground Forces army, but I found the available figures are lacking in heavy firepower. In fact, most of the Gundams and 'grunt' GM Mobile Suits have only a beam sabre. It just didn't look right, particularly when my Zeon opponent has a LOT of things that go 'BOOM'…

So I sculpted some bazookas and spare Ground-type shields in Art of Illusion…

… and sent them off to Shapeways, to print. They literally just arrived today, and I am a very happy Otaku. :)

Type 61 tanks are next!

Glad you're recovering, Martin!

And very cool conversion work.

It helps to have something to focus on other than one's treatment. Excellent work.

Very glad you're recovering!
I too am doing a 1/400 project, though it's a late 0079 space battle (have a Musai, building a modified Lepanto, and working on colony debris). All of the GMs I have either have the scatter beam gun or beam saber, so I would LOVE to get my hands on a few bazookas! Any chance you'll post them in a shop?

Thanks for the good wishes, all!

DSG – And there was I thinking there'd be no demand. :)

I'll make them available through Shapeways, and post here when they're good to go.

Cheers!

Righteous, thanks!

Right then, those of you suffering a shortage of tiny bazookas for giant robots – rejoice! They're up on my new Shapeways store – Miniature Martin.

I've only added a mark-up of about three bucks per set, as i think they're quite expensive as they are. :( Only available in the Frosted Detail materials please note, anything coarser than these won't print things this small.

Hope you like them!

Purchased 1 of each bazooka! Thanks man, can't wait to get them. Now, if you could do a beam rifle for a Gelgoog… :D

…and I will probably get more, and shields, when I do a ground game next year. Got to get this space one done first!

MacrossMartin14 Feb 2017 6:06 p.m. PST

Whoot! Hope you like 'em, DSG!

Interesting that we're mirroring each other's projects; I'm doing the ground war first, you the space battles. :)

Regarding the Gelgoog's rifle – is it this one you mean (top drawing)?

- have to see what I can do. :)

Yessir, but it'll be fragile 3d printed. :(

Or actually, this one would be better:

Bazookas arrived! Cursory look this morning before running out the door, and they look lovely! Thank you for putting them up MM!

MacrossMartin14 Mar 2017 5:33 a.m. PST

Sorry, DSG, only just now saw your reply. Wish TMP had a notification system. :(

Anyway, glad the bazookas arrived ok. I'm going to get some more shields for GMs (original series type) done very soon, as I'm a bit fed up of wobbly shields on mine. :) I'll probably do some scatter beam guns and 100mm guns, too.

My Zeon adversary picked up a team of Gelgoogs last week, but I walloped them! I think he may also want some more beam rifles for them soon, so I'd better try to get those done!
