Probably because most rules sets create lists for them that are garbage. most rules over price the bowmen |

Absolutely Maverick; nicely put. Also, what's the function of hobilars (this will not stop me buying some of course) on the wargame table? Unless you fancy a game of intimidating hapless farmers and stealing their produce there's nothing much for them to do. if there's a big battle they dismount to fight well away from the battlefield, if there's going to be small battle the hobilars get out of the way of the MAA and let them get on with it. |

Try DBA 3.0 (esp Big Battle) or A Game of Fire and Ice both do a very good job representing the Hundred Years War period and War of the Roses. Thomas J. Thomas Fame and Glory Games |

Just because it says "hobilars" doesn't mean that you have to use them as such. Light cavalry. Even MAAs went on chevauchee in light gear. The full monty was for pitched battles. |
