Do you prefer tournaments as part of a larger wargaming show or convention, or as separate events? |

My miniature wargaming tournament days are over; their presence at a wargaming con has no effect on / for me. I do attend / play at specific boardgaming cons (ASL). |

Does not matter to me, though if at cons then their is the opportunity to buy from the dealers. |

Doesn't matter to me one way or the other. Tourney players help pay the bills. |

Actually we found that the tourney players did not help pay the bills at our local con, when you factored in the extra space needed to accommodate them. |

Tournaments are the only reason I go to Conventions. I'm in the sticks, the boondocks, think country, if you are coming up my driveway you have been driving dirt roads for the past 20 minutes. If I'm driving 7 hours to our Con… it's because of those tournaments you have listed. |

I don't do tournaments, but for a few years the local Warhammer tourneys helped pay out venue rental for our local convention |

Separate events are great. As for a convention, I anchor my trip around a tournament or two. No tournament, no go to the con. |

In Australia at least, all our cons need the tournament's to pay the bills. Exception being the Little Wars shows. |
