As far as I have been able to find out, this is not available until late August. I am looking forward to it though. |

a span from 1848 to 1870…two armies in one small opsrey type book??? The Piedmontese uniforms are more standardised and simple..if not dull..but the Neapolitan ones..not less flamboyant and unpractical than Napoleonics deserved at least two volumes…the cover represent , with the exception of the lancer, three useless mounted guardsman in parade uniform…referring to which the Bavarian Queen of the Kingdom of Two Sicilies said: "la garde meurt mais n'avance pas" |

Hmmm. I have lots of figures on order for Kingdom of Italy. I think I have enough info to get them painted already, but this does give me pause. |

A pity. I finished my armies for the later period a year ago. getting accurate info was quite difficult. |

I believe this tile covering both armies is a pity and a lost opportunity: it should have covered one army only; the Sardinian army in 1849 after the defeat at Novara ending the 1st Independence war underwent a full organizational restructuring and uniform changes so I assume the space on the book would only be enough to give a basic coverage of this. In addition the Regno delle due Sicilie army was quite large and complex so this add up to the lack of space in the book . If also historical events coverage will be given, the book will be definetly have not enough space. I will buy it anyway , however in my opinion the subject should have required more books… |
