Mr Babbage seems to have scheduled a lot of wargames lately, but he never seems to front up on the night. What's with this? Has anyone actually met Mr Babbage yet? I'm starting to think he's just a figment of the imagination.

Sadly, he died in 1871…

Then the mystery deepens, MajorB. Because if Mr Babbage is deceased, then who is it that's sending us runner boys with messages from his broken-down omnibus just outside Gamage's on Holborn?

Mr Babbage should arrive at my abode sometime next week (encased in a set of TMWWBK).
