I ordered 5 packs including the 3 new packs early French HYW foot knights from California Jan 19, got confirmation order was shipped Jan 20, and received figures Jan 27. Hands down best HYW figures I own. Awesome, dynamic sculpts. 28mm to the eye when standing straight, a bit taller than Old Glory. They are ok with old glory and mix very well with Perry Foundry, Black Tree/Harlequin, and Front Rank. Yes, have it on my list to get to a comparison pic. Even with the dollar so strong against the pound these still expensive but the casting and sculpting quality is entirely in line with the boutique price, which has not been my uniform experience with others. Castings are perfect and seem of a very high alloy (Griffin castings?). I see 0 misalignment, shrinkage along the axis is at a minimum, super crisp all around, full forms with neither any short pour softness or (worse and more common) pressure squashing, not more than a whisper of a mold line. Can't recommend these enough. Historical figures have arrived with these, on par with the best quality Fantasy. And very bad hombres, the flower of French chivalry no doubt! |
