The World of Smog: Rise of Moloch is a fantastic Steampunk board game with incredible miniatures and awesome gameplay!! It's made by CMON (Cool Mini or Not) who has a track record of phenomenal games on Kickstarter. Just look at the Kickstarter campaign page and you can tell this game is absolutely top notch quality in every way (as most CMON games).

I'm a backer.

Here's the link to the Kickstarter: link

Only 6 days left until this Kickstarter ends!!

I've been in for a while. I actually think this theme has a lot of potential beyond a board game. I'm thinking RPG and a large scale (skirmish) miniature game.

Can't afford to keep buying into good looking KS with great promise, excellent minis, interesting premise and workable mechanics. Too dad-gummed many of 'em!

Yea I know what you mean. I dropped out of Conan at the last minute for the very same reason. So I am good to go for this one. Besides tax return is right around the corner (I hope) lol

What Terremant said. Yes.

And, when on the fence whether to drop another c-note on a cool KS game, I ask myself: did the base set I don't have come with lots of cool KS exclusive stuff I can't get without mortgaging the house to pay Ebay?

If the answer is yes, then the answer is no.

I'm looking at YOU, CMoN.

And I have no idea why this had to be crossposted to NINE boards.

Yeah, after overspending by not keeping track, I really limit myself to the funds I have set aside for play money. I look for things that I think I need for the hobby, like the painting DVDs Discover the Painting Pyramid with James Wappel, which given my level of painting and his willingness to share how he does his fantastic work was a good buy

or
games that really, no I mean REALLY interest me like Old School Tactical
link
and
Day of the Rangers
link
or ones where the numbers of extras that are free stretch goals in addition to being a game I'd like makes it really hard to not buy, like The Walking Dead – All Out War
link

It is a good idea to make a point of NOT looking at my early expenditures and add them up…

Why was this posted to the historical boards?

Is there a steampunk 19th century board? I don't mind that is how I found this thread.

One of the 19th Century Focus Groups is the "Victorian SF" (Victorian Science Fiction) board, which would be a perfect place. Here's a handy link:
