Hey all!

Well, I've put a bunch of updates up at the House of War recently, and thought I would share!

picture

I've done a bit with my son's 40mm AWI collection, including adding some artillery as a Christmas present and even getting a game in…

picture

I've done a bunch of Star Wars stuff… painting some Armada ships, scratch-mading a Phantom to go with my Ghost for Armada, weathering an X-Wing ship using colored pencils, and even making some figures for my son's Micro Machine collection.

I've started in on finishing up my Vikings with some new figures and some terrain and the like… and I posted some photos of the first of the new figures.

picture

I've done a bit of work on my Perry Miniatures "Retreat from Moscow" collection, including finishing up a unit of sleds and starting in on some skirmishers.

I've even posted a bit about the room, which has some new decorations (including a Brown Bess!) and I posted a walkthrough of one of the shelves!

Anyway… please do come by for a peek!:)

Thanks!

Gamer's envy.

Choctaw26 Jan 2017 8:32 a.m. PST

That remains my favorite gaming room by far.

wrgmr126 Jan 2017 8:51 a.m. PST

Wonderful room!
Great looking figures and basing.

steamingdave4726 Jan 2017 9:44 a.m. PST

Impressive start to 2017. That room looks to be great chill-out space.

***Ah Honey Lord Ashram has muskets AND swords….I just want one Musket…***

Is jealousy terminal? I look around at my room (cosy as it is) and fear that it may be.

Awesome looking room. The photo has just guaranteed that I will never show a photo of my gaming room.

Some of you may recall further info on the room and the musket. Follow this link to 3rd Jan posting and slightly after I researched the musket itself;

This is a fully functioning gun. It actually fires, not just goes bang and makes a lot of smoke……

Very nice – Pedersoli muskets are beautiful and not inexpensive.

More like a suite! Very nice. I tried to convince my wife to put a musket over the fireplace. Couldn't get it done.

YUP!!! Great Room.

How have you put the musket up, I see a hook like thing in the middle of the gun but not either end. Nails?

I already have a musket that I want to put up, an 1812 british Tower works with ivory inlay done by a kind Afghan after he "acquired" it somehow. Would be awesome if you could direct me to a shop that sells that hook system?

You are a very lucky man!!
And your cave is very inspirational!
I have been "promised" by Mrs Jeckyll that I will get the downstairs reading room in 2-3 years…Im holding my breath:^*

langobard27 Jan 2017 3:24 a.m. PST

Beautiful and inspirational! Thanks for sharing!

Hey guys!

Thanks all for the kind words!

Yeah, the room is just such a joy. I've worked for a while to get it "right" and I think I generally have. Hey, anyone can come on by for a game if you are in the area… I have this cool space, but not a lot of people to game with!

Ben, I used gun hooks from Dixie Gun Works…

They are really nice.

Anyway, thanks all for the kind words…. Hope the miniatures were fun to look at!

Dear Lord Ashram,

I hate you. You know that, right?

This is so close to my "wish list" game room. Except I would fine some appropriate tartan wallpaper for the upper walls and lots of built-in book shelves. The musket is so cool. I have never met you, but I hate you! wink

Lord Ashram27 Jan 2017 9:25 a.m. PST

Oh, I know what you mean, Rally… our old house had a den like that, with beautiful dark wood wainscoting all around, and this great deep reddish colored tartan… it looked fantastic. To be honest, I just didn't have the money or time or anything to change this room up:( But I think it still worked out nice and clean, and the lighting is really good.

And no hate… Just come game! I just refilled the candy and snacks part of the fridge, picked up some new drinks from IN the fridge… I'm ready to host! :D
