Ok, so with Pikemen's Lament out today (and what a birthday gift it is, thank you Osprey :D ), who is looking forward to mix all three books (Lion- and Dragon Rampant and PL) to suit their particular setting/period? I cannot wait to start creating XVI cent. Italian Wars mercenary bands of pike and melee troops…

I would, however, limit a units options to one book only; so yoou can have LR "bidowers" next to PL pikemnen, but no PL Trotters with "fear" upgrade from DR.

What are your thoughts?

Sounds like it might get cray-zay!

Is pikemen lament based on lion rampant or men who would be kings (colonials)?

I like former very much, but the colonials less so. Although I have not played it yet.

From all I've seen, it's from Lion Rampant; originally it was a fan of the system researching a pike and shot variant, and then he and Dan Mersey joined forces to make it a professional product. I think there are some advanced leader traits in it that might share some features with TMWWBK.

Yes, it's another version of Lion Rampant rules, even ranges and point costs for units are the same. The biggest difference is in unit's abilities, those in Pikemen's Lament seem to be more elaborate and advanced. Still I feel they could work side by side.
Also – Pikemen's Lament relies heavily on Leader: his abilities and advancement. Way more than either LR or DR (at least that's my first impression). Then there's the campaign aspect, where Leader can advance and gain additional traits.

Thank you

The few reviews I have read suggests their is some refinement to the Lion Rampant system (more exanded Officer/Leader information as well as adjustments to the activation system).

Has anyone kit busted leadership into LR? I am yet to get DR and was wondering if that was addressed there? I miss the bravado of the cult of Lord Fiddle Faddle etc. or Tussy Locks earl of Pork. ☠️
