Picked up a bag of these guys:

Intending to use them as mercenaries in a Sicilian Arab army for Lion Rampant, Has anyone else painted these? I think they should just be in white and was going to do a red shield.
They don't look like Sudanese from other manufacturers.

Thoughts?

Hey Bud,
As for the miniatures, the photo provided aint all it could be. But your plan sounds just fine by me. I've got a Saracen project of my own, as you know.
While I'm at it. Did you get the SCHGS message from Tom H.?
Be advised, Birthday Bash at the usual establishment at 1200 Hrs. Sat. 28 Jan. Sure would like to see Ya there…

White with a few accept colors will work for Berbers and other troops from North Africa

I did mine some in white, some in dark grey and some in fawn with dull red shields – kind of like the palette used by Ran the Cid.

The OG figures look as if they are based on link which is in turn based on link (lower scene). The original doesn't show colour but link shows a group of African soldiers in Muslim Spanish service wearing similar clothing, all in white.

Thanks all! Yes, the Old Glory catalog pictures are hard to see. I had one of those moments of indecision before I started putting paint to metal, I shall proceed as planned.

Robbie- yes, I need to RSVP, should be there!
