Hello,

looking for any photos of the Gailla / Warrior Miniatures 15mm colonial range.
I think they are quite small like the Naismith and Peter Pig ranges.

I have them, squat is what I'd describe them as. They are ok, but I would recommend you having a look at Irregular Miniatures, you are after all going to invest time and effort to paint them.

I can send pics in 3-4 hours, when I get home. Need your email. Otherwise will take me a bit longer to use Photobucket (which I find difficult to use).

It's ok, I found my Photobucket log in….now to use mobile app.

Apologies, it seems I have stored my NW frontier stuff down the back shed. I'm travelling for the next 6 days. Will try and find the figures then.

I'll post some pics later today of my Gallia Hadendowah and Ansar. I like them a lot. They go well with Peter Pig and Naismith, being true 15mm figures. And the good people at Warrior are great to deal with. Very responsive.

Here are a few photos of my Gallia Ansar and Hadendowah:

Hello, thanks for posting your photos, nice figures, thought they were going to be a bit more squat like the old Mikes Models figures.

Thanks, its very useful to hear that one can mix Peter Pig, Gallia and Naismith colonials to get a good variety of nicely matching figures on the smaller side of 15mm.

I painted a lot of the Sudan range for my Dervishes. The only issue was with the pro-British Egyptian puttees. They made the ankles real weak.
Loved the others. True 15mm.

I have lots of Gallia Pathans, and have clear memories of what the rest of the colonial range looked like. I've always considered them generally 'orrible: dwarf-like, stiffly posed, and crudely sculpted. The best that can be said is that some are sufficiently less bad than the rest as to render them passable. Rifles in particular were poorly depicted.

The Gallia Mahdists that I own and have seen are nicely sculpted. I think the style of sculpting reflects that which was predominant at the time they were done. Although they're not as animated as say, Peter Pig, I think they're very nice. They add a good variety to my Mahdists forces.

There were much better sculpted figures available at the time, such as the Minifigs and Freikorps Pathans that make up the rest of my horde.
