I have found out that the History of Wargaming Project ( link ) are offering reprints of these volumes ( among others ) .

Has anyone bought these and if so are they OK, or is it better to try and obtain second hand copies of the originals?

I do most of my tmp surfing on my cell phone. As soon as the Rules Directory started, I shut it off.
The wisdom of this became clear when I got a new monitor (finally!) for my desktop. That is a HUGE pile of threads I have no interest in. So I turned it off on the OFM account too.

I have started poll suggestions that lead to the creation of separate boards for The Sword and the Flame, and for a Flames of War. I believe I also suggested one for Age of Reason, but it didn't get enough "support" votes.

So, will there be Rules Directory boards created for these games?
Will the entire content of threads on already existing boards be transferred to the RD?
Does this mean that to view these threads I will have to turn back on the RD?
Will they be available ONLY through the RD?

Let me be blunt. I did some heavy lifting to get boards set up for Rules I actually play.
I kind of resent that stuff like The Blue Light Manual or Newburry Fast Play Ancients, which never had a poll, will choke off access to what I'm actually interested in.

I have Featherstone's books in the series dealing with North Africa, Tunesia, Sicily and Italy. Both are quite good. I also have Quarrie's book on Western Europe. It follows the same format as Featherstone's but the writing style is a bit more dry. Not overly so but not quite as entertaining either.

The content, from what I understand, is essentially the same as with the originals. There are some extra editorial notes at the beginning of some sections. So, you can't go wrong buying the reprints. They will give yo everything the originals gave as they are essentially the same.

PS Looks like Winston got bit by the TMP bug!
