A, but don't often get them

E. Nobody would know which one's to get me unless I provided a list. Kind of takes the fun out of it that way.

I don't ask for things for my birthday or any of the other present based holidays. Never been my thing.

Now, following a tradition from SWMBO, I get my mom a present on my birthday. Think about it. She did all the work.

My wife has stopped buying them for me because I never paint the ones she already got me previously.

I may try to ask for already painted figures this year.

F: I almost always buy them for *myself* for my birthday, as I did last year. Always something 'different', not just more musketeers to finish off that unit.

I don't think anyone else has given me minis for my birthday since the first I ever owned, picked out of the J.C.Penney Christmas catalog.

F. Used to, but there's no one left. Anyway, birthdays are marked now, not celebrated. For Christmas, there is always something from and for me, but this year was custom dice. I already have enough unpainted lead. (Turned out the dice needed to be painted too, but at least they were faster.)

Not typically. Board games and books are usually on there though.

As above – F: I almost always buy them for *myself* for my birthday (and Christmas, Father's Day).

#1 daughter did get me an X-Wing starter for Christmas, but only because she could get it on Amazon and not set foot in the "nerd store".

jdpintex16 Jan 2017 1:41 p.m. PST

A and whenever else I get a present. That or money to buy my own minis.

Yep and for Christmas and our anniversary also.

whitphoto16 Jan 2017 3:16 p.m. PST

No, I buy throughout the year. My birthday present tends to be paintball with my sons. We all enjoy it but the $250 USD-300 price tag for the day tends to be much

F – I ask for money with which I buy the miniatures I want.

Gonsalvo16 Jan 2017 8:07 p.m. PST

I buty them and disburse to family members to give to me for the above gift giving opportunities as needed. Then I paint them!

Seriously, even as another gamer, knowing the exact manufacturer, unit size and composition, and which units someone else needs for their wargames armies is very difficult.

B

Doesn't everyone?

Money is safer than providing lists, I suspect.

Green Tiger17 Jan 2017 2:10 a.m. PST

f- not since I was about seven when my Mother said I wasn't allowed any more.

Ten Fingered Jack17 Jan 2017 5:51 a.m. PST

A and Christmas too.

TodCreasey17 Jan 2017 6:19 a.m. PST

A. The kids think all my list sucks except for the toys so they insist that everything from them has to be for gaming.

Plus I have lots of stuff so keeping a running list of things I am looking for is a good way to give people something to get me.

Yes, from my Mom as it is so close to Christmas. I don't get greedy, just a few packs of Crusader…
