OK, I bought the Newline Boudicca before Christmas as part of an order from SHQ to go with my Celts. She came holding a severed Roman head in her left hand and her right hand up in the air holding . . . something. The something that came with her is a composite bow. Is there any story of her using a bow? Is there any indication the Celts/Britons used composite bows? Should I just give her a spear, like everybody else's Boudicca figure? Or maybe a story of her using a sword?

Bow. Spear. Stormbringer.

It's Boudicca, so whatever takes your fancy :-)

I don't think the bow was a common or high status weapon amongst the Britons so I doubt she would be carrying one.

Chick holding a weapon. I'm ok with that. Just sayin'.

It's your model, give her an M-16 if you want.

For what it's worth, a sword would be higher status than a spear, and a bow (especially composite) is right out.

Looks like a spear to me. If it's a separate part the bow is completely out archaeologically. Sounds like a picking error at the manufacturer.

Yes, Wachaza, that's the gal, though I didn't get the chariot. I think I will give her a different weapon. I just thought I should see if there was some story about her being handy with a bow or executing prisoners by personally shooting them full of arrows or something.

As a variant on the picture above, she could be waving her bra in the air…??
