I want to portray of Confederate Zouave unit in fez using Perry and Foundry figs other than the Louisiana Tigers' colors and the dark blue jacket and red pants of many units. Are there any other Confederate Zouave units with unique uniform colors? |

There was another unit of Louisiana zouaves, one different from the Tigers. If I'm not mistaken, it was known as the 1st Battalion Louisiana Zouaves. Its uniform looked something like that of the 5th New York (!), but wasn't quite the same. |

'The Tigers' Zouaves were only a Company though. Coppens' Zouaves – 1st Btn LA Zouaves looked quite similar to 5th NY. |

Also: Louisiana Tigers' blue jackets faded pretty quickly to a red brown. The dye was not color fast. |

Dupiere's Battalion, also known as the 2nd Louisiana Zouaves, went into Confederate service in April 1862. It was first planned to send the battalion to Virginia to reinforce Coppen's Zouave Battalion. This never happened and instead the battalion remained in the west. It was at the Battle of Corinth and was subsequently part of Waul's Texas Legion during the Vicksburg campaign. Confederate uniform researcher Lee White described these zouaves as wearing flowing red pantaloons and short gray jackets as late as 1863. |

If I recall correctly at this hour, the 33rd Virginia had several companies clad in Zouave uniforms at Manassas. If I am not mistaken, typical blue Zouave jackets and red pantaloons. |
