I do not represent any company and don't hesitate to endlessly complain when I am not happy about one, but praise where it is due.

I am preparing the 28mm Soviet infantry I bought during last Sale and I cannot but say how happy I am with these figures.

They match well with my Warlord plastic figures and have the advantage of not requiring any… assembly. Flash is minimum and I could prepare all my figures very quickly.

Quality of the sculpt is very good. Not as good as the latest BA Winter Germans I bought a few months ago but if these Germans are a 9, my BTD soviets range from 7.8 to 8.8. So indeed a bit less nice than these Winter Germans but a very solid purchase.

So all in all, very happy with the purchase. Recommended.

I like BT Russians too. I believe they were mostly sculpted by Nick Collier.

I like them, too. Ordered a bunch during their recent sale.

The BTD Russians are solid well posed sculpts and a joy to paint, their weapons are bold and sturdy too. Worth every cent (especially during their frequent sales, good on em). I personally give them a solid 8, how I wish they came as plastics I'd give them a 10 then.

Black Tree do seem to be a bit of a mixed bag. A friend bought some in the sale, mostly German mountain troops which were excellent. Some of the others were not so good. Like most manufacturers it all depends on the sculpted.

They are excellent overall except for the later sculpts, which are still fine. I have detailed Soviet painting guides at my blog for them. I painted mine for Stalingrad skirmish, which they were sculpted for. Their Germans are also great. I love that both sides have captured weapons, like Gremans with PPSHs. Check the specialty pages at my blog for more info.

I bought a bunch of the BTD Soviets a few years ago and I'm quite satisfied with their quality.

Like Big Red says. US, Russians and Germans were sculpted by Nick Collier. Much better than Afrikakorps, SS, Brits and others. It is always the sculptor not the manufacture.
