…The Taliban. "Terrorist militants affiliated with the Taliban in Afghanistan have been purchasing U.S.-supplied weapons and ammunition from Afghan army and police forces, which receive their funding from American taxpayers, according to a new government report. The disclosure comes amid an increase in violence in the war-torn country, where the Taliban continues to grow and regain territory once held by U.S.-allied Afghan forces. Just 63 percent of Afghanistan is under allied control, despite a four-billion dollar investment from the United States in 2016. With the country facing some of the highest levels of corruption worldwide, U.S. government inspectors have discovered evidence that the U.S.-funded Afghan security forces are selling their American-supplied weapons to Taliban terrorists…." I'm not surprised. Thousands of non-existent Afghan Army troops (deserters), are still collecting paychecks from Uncle Sam and US taxpayers too. I certainly hope someone puts a stop to that about a week from now. |

Why would they put a stop to it ?
And the security contracts by PMC's would be at stake as well . |

No surprise there. Many who have experience with the Afghans said they can't be trusted, etc. And really have little concern about A'stan's future. They are very strongly wedded to their tribe, warlords, mullahs etc., … Nothing new here. And with the US having @ 8400(?) troops there with possibly more to come. I think it is a waste of US time and money. And hopefully no more US or allied blood will be wasted as well. Nothing in A'stan is worth it … nothing … |

Legion 4: Afghanistan is rich in mineral wealth and especially rare lithium salts which are vital to the electronics Industry and renewable power generation and storage technology. The Chinese are very interested in developing the resource. Lithium may become the new oil of the 21st Century. Cheers. Rod Robertson. |

Yes, I know that … but the cost to US in blood and treasure is proving to be much too much. The US has spent billions on this "country" locked in the distant past, at this point. It would be cheaper to just buy it from another source(s). Maybe the Canadians can send thousands of troops there to corner the market ? |

Yeah Oil that stuff has never caused a problem. Let someone else play salt Police. On a Historic note oil and playing politics with it Is what brought the British Empire down. As can be seen in my new Movie (based on Histrical events) starring Brad Pitt. |
