Ones that put lines on the table at the dollar store? |

Not that I've seen. But they're at most hardware stores, too – that AP one is a pretty good price. |

That's some pretty weird terrain, there. |

Yes, I built it for the fantasy game Frostgrave, which is supposed to be a ruined city, thawing after thousands of years of it being frozen. Took a kid's snake toy and cut it up. I just used it in Frostgrave recently, as discussed here: link |

I like the Ryobi, not sure it is bright enough for outside but I like the camera options. |

Harbor Freight sells one for $5 USD that is supposed to mount to a circular saw that throws a line. |

> Harbor Freight sells one for $5.00 USD USD that is supposed to mount to a circular saw that throws a line. I have a circular saw that already has a laser guide line built-in. Kinda heavy to lug that around the game table to check LOS though. |

I believe the saw causes an instant morale check if brandished. Check your rules… Don't forget the +2 modifier if plugged in. |

I bought one years ago, from a gaming company. It was re-purposed by them, from its normal building construction purposes. Shop around and you should be able to find them. Not sure on prices, though. Mine works, but it is rather dim. I may have to take my own advice and look for a brighter unit to replace my old one. Cheers! |

This type of laser is useful for certain LOS checks, but not all. It rapidly shows if you can see between obstacles in a 2D environment. It does not help you decide if a figure can see over an obstacle, which is often needed in skirmish gaming. I'd love to see someone make a dual purpose laser with a straight beam emitter on one end and a line on the other end. |
