Hi, I'm currently at work and dont have my books with me. I was creating some new lists on Easy Army, and I came across a strange (non-) option that doesn't seem to be available anymore and Im not sure if its due to a rule change or is it an Easy Army bug. In the different army books, you can add an MMG to a jeep, kubelwagen, schwimmwagen, etc for 10, 15 pts. I do recall jeeps losing transport capability, but not the German ones. But to the best of my knowledge, the vehicles never changed classification. Currently in Easy Army, you do not have the option to add a mmg to these vehicles under transport. Now, I did notice under "armoured car", these vehicles are listed there with the mmg points already added. In the new V2 rules, do these transports now change to your one & only armored car selection when you buy the mmg? I understand that transports can now fire a single weapon if no unit is on board, but isnt this a bit overkill to not be able to field your greyhound just because you took a jeep w/mmg? |

I believe they nerfed it to stop people (boring and desperate tournament players) running many US gun jeeps. So now they count as an armoured car instead. I'm sad they did away with the schwimmwagen and kubel options though as they weren't overpowered or particularly abused (IMHO). If you want to field a proper cavalry recon section using greyhounds/jeeps/tank destroyers etc just run them as an additional armoured platoon from tank war (if your opponent agrees). |

Thanks for the reply! I didnt see any rule that actually converts them to an "armoured car" selection when I first read the rules. A friend mentioned they all lose transport capabilty if you add mmg, I was just wondering if the do indeed lose the "transport" rule altogether. I can understand trying to nerf cheap mobile mmg spam, on the other hand they still would have "transport" and be destroyed when closest to an enemy unit at end of turn. Guess I'll do some reading when I get home. |

Yes, if you add a weapon option that says "this weapon option makes the vehicle lose all transport capacity", this converts it to an armored car selection. |

Does this also apply to Bren carriers? They have the option to take an additional pintle-mounted Bren in addition to the one poking out of the front. Does this remove their transport ability or not? |

@SquireBev, the option specifically has to say "This weapon option makes the vehicle lose all transport capacity." For example the M3 Half track can add three .30 machine guns to it, but it does not say it loses transport capacity. |

Does this have implications for British airborne recce jeeps? I've got a whole 1000 point force of them. I suppose I'd assumed that since it was OK historically it would be OK game-wise. |
