Does anyone make miniatures for Nazi SA "Brownshirts," from the period stated in the Description? In particular, they need to have the Kepi and tunics.

GARS190008 Jan 2017 4:34 p.m. PST

Sorry, they need to be 28mm.

It's not surprising that manufacturers might balk at such figures. I'm of the opinion that you need bad guys, however. I was considering using these Brigade Games 50's police: link with these heads swapped on: link You'll have to file some pom-poms off the top of some of the heads. That's assuming you want to model someone like the figure in the center:

If you want the figure on the left, just headswap German officers.

I think graven images…Jim Bowen (may he r.i.p.) had some brown shirts. The figs are larger than 28mm though.. you can still see his website. Quite a unique and consistent style. Someone is producing some of his figs.

You might find some suitable nutzis in the bob murch pulp figures weird menace range.

I just checked the graven images website…they do have 2 packs of brown shirts…one w hap and one w/o…suitably menacing on the gotterdamerung category. Might have to join their yahoo group to see about getting them, f even possible…plus it states they are 36/40mm.

I needed just a few SA and could find no manufacturer who made them in 25 or 28mm. While surfing the internet I ran across some photos of 28mm Norwegian soldiers that had been painted as SA… the hat was perfect. The Norwegian soldier are manufactured by Gorgon Studios. I wanted something a little closer so I bought 2 packs of the Gorgon Studios Norwegians and a couple packs of the Pulp Figures uniformed Nazis and cut the heads off both packs of figures and used the Norwegian heads on the Pulp Figure bodies. It is not perfect, but it's the best result I have seen.

The only thing I could find remotely close was the WWII Norwegians made by Gorgon Studios:

At least the hat comes close. I used them for Austrian Brownshirts in my Sound of Music: The Wargame:

The only other figure is a single female Brownshirt by Pulp Miniatures:

There is a good one in the West Wind range:

I have several of this one and I think I uploaded a photo some years ago if you search for SA
